7 Ethos
At Solen Mara, our values are not just marketing statements - they are the foundation of how we create, source, and deliver every garment. These seven guiding principles shape every decision, from sketch to shipment, ensuring that our pieces honor people, the planet, and the future of fashion.
1. Local Production
We believe in keeping our creations close to home whenever possible. Our design, sourcing, and manufacturing are based in Lithuania, Europe, supporting our local economy and preserving regional craftsmanship. When local production is not economically viable, we remain fully transparent - clearly disclosing the fabric origin and manufacturing location in each product description.
We choose to work only with countries that uphold strong protections for both child and adult workers, ensuring that the people behind our garments are treated with dignity and respect. Local production isn’t just about proximity - it’s about accountability, traceability, and trust.
2. Ethical Labor
Behind every Solen Mara garment is a skilled artisan working in a safe, fair, and respectful environment. We strictly prohibit child labor and enforce reasonable, regulated working hours for adults.
We periodically inspect working conditions, ensuring that every workspace is clean, safe, and conducive to the well-being of our makers. For us, ethical labor isn’t a marketing buzzword - it’s a commitment to the people whose hands bring our designs to life.
3. Fair Pay
Fairness starts with pay. Every individual in our supply chain - from fabric suppliers to sewing specialists - deserves compensation that reflects their skill, time, and dedication.
We work only with partners who share our belief in fair pay. This means not just meeting legal wage requirements, but ensuring that earnings support a decent standard of living for workers and their families.
4. Sustainable Materials
We select only materials that are safe for both people and the planet. Our focus is on natural, eco‑friendly textiles that feel luxurious while minimizing harm. Wherever possible, we prioritize recyclable fabrics or those that decompose faster at the end of their lifecycle.
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond fabric - we minimize production waste, make thoughtful use of every scrap, and choose packaging materials that are recyclable, compostable, or reusable. For us, sustainability is a full‑circle responsibility.
5. Right to Repair
We design our garments to last, but longevity also means caring for them over time. That’s why we offer authentic repair materials - such as spare buttons, fabric ties, or matching fabric swatches - upon request.
If your Solen Mara piece needs mending, simply email us and we’ll provide the supplies you need to restore it. We believe in a wardrobe built for years, not seasons.
6. Reject Artificial Scarcity
We do not destroy unsold items or withhold stock to create hype or inflate prices. This practice, common in parts of the fashion industry, wastes valuable resources and drives unnecessary overproduction.
Instead, we embrace a made‑to‑order and small‑batch production model. By creating pieces only when there’s genuine demand, we reduce waste, avoid excess stock, and ensure that every garment we produce has a purpose.
7. Animal Welfare
We believe that style should never come at the expense of animal life. That’s why we never use leather, fur, or any materials derived from harming animals.
Fashion can be beautiful, durable, and high‑quality without cruelty. Our commitment to harm‑free design is part of our broader vision for a kinder, more responsible fashion industry.
